How do I connect high speed wireless adapter to high speed usb port? I have a high speed wireless network adapter for connecting my laptop to the internet. I have a netgear wireless router. my laptop has four usb ports at the rear, which according to computer properties, one of is high speed (the word used is enhanced) but at best am only getting 54.0mps and thats within 10 feet of router. how can I make sure my wireless adapter is plugged into the correct port?

At the coffee shop my IP adress is "123" for example, and at home its "456". But if my son goes to the coffee shop his is "123" also. I don't understand.... So AT THE COFFEE SHOP, is Everyones IP address "123" while at the coffee shop? Does this IP address follow the COMPUTER or the LOCATION?

So ... how come they call it "wireless" and "high speed" when I've got more wires going from here to there and everywhere and 2 extension cords to fit all this stuff into outlets and computer? And how come it all operates at about the same speed as before? Sometimes even slower.
